SLJ Lecture Notes
Introduction
As a professor of Greek, Hebrew, and Systematic Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary for 31 years beginning in 1949, and after retiring from Dallas Seminary, as Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois from 1980-1985, as well as a visiting Professor of New Testament at Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, Indiana, Dr. S. Lewis Johnson, Jr. inspired hundreds of students to revere the Word of God.
His seminary classroom lectures were a tour de force in sound Biblical exegesis and doctrinal truth.
Many of his seminary students have become noted pastors, professors and presidents of seminaries.
Believers Chapel Library is the current archival repository of a collection of Dr. Johnson’s seminary classroom lecture notes on books of the Bible and various theological and doctrinal topics (the “SLJ Lecture Notes”) which are listed on the attached Table of Contents of the SL Lecture Notes. The SLJ Lecture Notes are considered unpublished works of the author, Dr. S. Lewis Johnson, Jr., and are therefore subject to copyright protection under the current copyright laws. The ownership of the SU Lecture Notes is held by Samuel L. Johnson, III and his family (the “Johnson Family”).
